Brief
The client was using 5 different recruitment agencies to recruit and supply up to 200 of one type of worker, namely warehouse operatives. This made it difficult to record or control temporary worker hours, attendance and importantly for this client, productivity.
Each department was selecting different agencies to supply their staff, as and when they felt they were required. This resulted in the following issues:-
- Spend on agency workers could not be forecast or controlled – rising costs
- Lack of accountability from the supplying agencies
- No KPI’s returned from supplying agencies, detailing numbers on site, retention, skills, and turnover.
- No central induction process
- Varying standard of applicant as no bench marks set
- No confidence in Eligibility to Work of some agency workers
